While I was home, I took the chance to some of my favorite places in Wilmington. Friday afternoon I enjoyed shopping in Mayfair while catching up with my friend Sophi. Then on my way back home I stopped by my favorite ice cream shop Boombalatti’s. I always get the sampler because there are so many delicious flavors. However, my favorite is always the Caramel Oatmeal Cookie Crunch.
Unfortunately the rain set in Saturday which made my beach run not an option. Instead I met a few Delta Zeta Alumnae at Sweet and Savory for brunch. Sweet and Savory is a Wilmington staple for fresh casual dining. Their brunch is one of my favorite in the area.
I made the trek back to Cary and spent Sunday hanging with my guys. I went to Fleet Feet and was able to get fitted for a new pair of running shoes. If you are a runner or do any high impact cardio please go get fitted for a pair of shoes. I found out that my right foot is a half size bigger than my left. Also, my feet are narrow and I had no idea! I went with Brooks Ghost 6 on sale and with a tax free discount. I was excited to score such a great deal.
Sunday afternoon was spent passively watching the NASCAR race while my husband cheered Dale Earnhardt Jr. to a win. NASCAR racing is something else, I have learned a lot this race season and am still quite baffled by all the regulations and rules.
I took some time out yesterday to make a weeknight meal plan. I stumbled across a weeknight meal planner by Cooking Light which made my planning very simple. The site provides great recipes many of which I would never make on my own. I am going to make an adapted version of Roasted Vegetable and Ricotta Pizza tonight.
How was your weekend? Anyone else into the world of NASCAR?
I am not a Nascar gal but I am interested in the meal planning website. Can't wait to check it out :)
ReplyDeleteYou are just like me! My parents have been putting boxes in my childhood bedroom for the last couple of weeks and informed me last weekend that I need to come out and start cleaning everything out or they are going to themselves. I started getting panic attacks just thinking about them going through my stuff. Just the thought of not knowing what they are getting rid of. But I would say that a little over a year later I should probably start letting go of some of the stuff. I am also going to have to check out that meal planner, I so need to get back on track of grocery shopping and cooking!
ReplyDeleteI ADORE Sweet & Savory (and shopping at Mayfaire too) whenever I'm in Wilmington. I have to watch NASCAR on Sunday's thanks to my grandpa-in-law and brother-in-law but have never really gotten into it, watching them enjoy it is super entertaining though!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the Cooking Light meal planner! I'm headed to check it out now!
