Monday Musings

After a short weekend, the work week seems so soon. I currently have a love/hate relationship with Mondays as I am sure most do in education. Only two more Mondays left of the school year!

This will be my least favorite Monday of all as I am helping with out end of year tests. A large part of my job involves individual evaluations and assessments which I love. However, I do not feel the same way about en of grade tests. I despise the culture it creates in schools of almost "survival" and has student's dreading learning starting at 3rd grade. It breaks my heart. There are more efficient ways to accurately measure student's learning. Okay, off my soap box now.

In the midst of wrapping of the school year and preparing for our big trip, Joe and I have been house hunting. Nothing too serious, just exploring different parts of the triangle to try and figure out where we want to lay down roots. My favorite part about house hunting is dreaming up my ideal kitchen.

I was unsure of white cabinets when we purchased our first home. After decorating and setting in I quickly fell in love. I hope to continue the tradition to our next house. I am also dreaming of granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. It's something we always talked about upgrading but never got a chance to. I have been pinning away a few amazing kitchen ideas on Pinterest to keep in mind. I love the pops of aqua against the white.
