Alright loves. I hope everyone is having a wonderful week. Today marks the last Friday of summer break. I have been back working on our preschool assessment for the past few weeks. So I'm already back into the swing of early morning commutes and missing sleeping in. However, something about knowing Monday is the start of a new school year is a bit depressing. I am looking forward to spending this last weekend enjoying this last bit of freedom. Since it is Friday y'all know what that means. Here are a few things I am loving this week...
One. Summer Goals. In June, I shared five simple goals that I wanted to complete by the end of August. Well, I am about halfway through my list. I have tried several new restaurants including
Parker and Otis and
The Pitt. This week I completed a simple DIY project with coasters. I also donated what felt like 1/2 my closet to the bargain box. I sent the other half to Thread Up :). I have got to get my but in gear to try a few new DIY projects to meet my goal before August wraps.
Two. Currently Craving. When visited Parker and Otis for lunch this week they had the best corn salad. Now I am on a mission to make my own at home. I found this recipe for Mexican Corn Salad which seems pretty similar. Can't wait to try it out.
Three. Makeup Love. After seeing this diverse palette on
Kate's blog I knew it would be a perfect addition to my makeup routine. I love all in one palettes as they simplify getting ready in the morning. Tarte is quickly becoming my favorite brand due to the elimination of parabens, mineral oil and sulfate sin their products.
Four. Favorite Drink. Almost everyday I fix myself a glass of cucumber mint water to take with me to work. I use my favorite bottle from Target and just ad a few slices of cucumber and a sprig of mint.
Five. Happy Friday! Apparently, I can't emphasize this enough. I hope everyone has a great day and a wonderful weekend!
I haven't had cucumber mint water yet (had cucumber but not the mint). My go-to is strawberry and lemon water. It's so refreshing and the lemon, I swear, kept me from getting sick in the winter (especially working with a bunch of kids...aka germ bots haha).
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great weekend girl!
Mmmmmm! I love infused water. I've been popping strawberries and basil in mine recently and I feel so fancy!
ReplyDeleteSo fun! What did you think of both the new restaurants? I love Parker & Otis. The food is really good and the atmosphere is great. The Pit is good for an upscale barbecue place, but Clyde Cooper's is our absolute favorite.
ReplyDeleteI have a similar tarte palette and agree anything that is good for my face and makes my routine easier is a win! Happy Friday! xo, biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhhh I love that palette! That is something I could keep in my bag and use quickly in the parking lot before I go into work.....not to be super specific or anything ;-)
ReplyDeleteGood for you for accomplishing your summer goals! Hope you have a great first week next week! Happy Friday :)

I'm loving that palette, totally need to check it out. I love infused water. I totally need that water bottle.
ReplyDeleteGood for you on accomplishing some of your Summer goals! I probably should have done some, but I guess I'll have to wait until next year. That Mexican corn salad looks delicious. I saw that palette on Kate's blog also, and was intrigued. If you buy it, tell me what you think, please. I love making infused water! It adds so much to regular water! Have a wonderful weekend!

Mmm that corn salad looks so good! And I've been infusing water lately too and it has made such a difference in how much I drink! I love to add mint too!
ReplyDeleteI love corn salads in the summer! I will often use our leftover grilled corn the next day in one, and they are delicious! I will have to try out that recipe. Good for you with the infused waters! I feel like that must be such a refreshing drink.
ReplyDeleteI love that palette! I'll have to check it out further.
