Friday Five

I'm coming at y'all with another short and sweet Friday Five post today. The woes of trying to balance working and being a stay at home mom really caught up with me this week. I ended up having to work Monday- Thursday this week and I am beat. Props to every working mom out there because it is hard to be away from little ones when they are so young.

Southern Charm. My only true reality TV addiction is Southern Charm and I can not wait for the premier next month! My friends are having a watch party for the premier and of course we have to dress the part. May or may be ordering caftans for the occasion. If only I could look this glamorous.

Limelight By Alcone. I shared this week about my new favorite beauty line. If you missed the post, stop by and check out their amazing natural skincare line.

Beauty and the Beast. I am so looking forward to seeing this movie. Anyone seen it yet and did it live up to the hype? My only wish is that Caroline was old enough to enjoy it with me!

Spring Wardrobe. J.Crew's new releases have me giving all the heart eyes. I just adore the ruffles, stripes and dots. One favorite that has it all is this adorable top!
Web Favorites.

Tarte can do no wrong and this palate looks amazing.

Love that Dunkin is replacing it's most unhealthy drink on the menu.

Lately | Life & Random Thoughts

Currently hanging out Sunday afternoon while Caroline takes her third nap of the day. Yes, third nap. Being one year old is super tough sometimes and naps have really suffered lately. So after two 45 minute naps this morning she finally tuckered out and fell asleep. We have all been battling congestion and coughs at our house which doesn't help either. Cold + Teething = One miserable baby.  So our weekend so far has been lots of cuddles, snacks and reading books.

I was able to sneak away early this morning for grocery shopping and errands. On the menu this week  includes two of my favorite flavorful yet simple meals. This one pan Italian skillet meal and a delicious pot roast. I purchased 2x the ingredients so I can freeze one meal for later.

One simple grocery hack is ordering groceries online at Walmart. No lie, while I used to turn my nose up at Walmart produce. The quality has gotten 100% better. There is no fee to order online- the total just has to meet the $30 minimum. They have the cheapest baby food pouches I have found. Under $1 for a variety of organic blends. It also gives you a chance to shop the entire store. You bet I ordered an extra humidifier and cold medicine this week and it all was delivered straight to my car. Check here to see if it's available in your area.

I am dying over new spring fashion. I just snagged some adorable tops on sale at Loft and Old Navy. Next on my list are a new pair of sandals. Also, I am loving this T3 curling iron. It is currently on sale as well! What are you loving for spring?

New Makeup Guide

Recently, a friend contacted me about trying a few new-to-me makeup and skincare line called Limelight by Alcone. I am always excited to try new products and jumped at the chance to share my experience with y'all. I have been trying their skincare products for the last week and my skin feels noticeably better.

Limelight features products that are phthalate free, paraben free, chemical free and cruelty free. The line has both a complete skincare routine as well as makeup collection. The makeup collection features professional grade makeup with the same formulas as pro brands.

Here is a peek into the items I loved.

Hydrating Face Serum - Features alge and mushroom extract to combat age spots, fine line and wrinkles.

Clay Masque - Acne fighting clay, tea tree oil and cinnamon bark to balance skin.

Cleanser - Combats acne bacteria and reduces the appearance of sun spots and skin damage.

Also love this lipstick and this eyeshadow palette. You can check out the entire line here.  If you have any questions my friend Kirsten would be happy to help.

While shopping yesterday I noticed several of the products and color options are out of stock. Check back often because Limelight is working hard to meet the demand. As a thank you they are currently offering free shipping at checkout!

Friday Five

Friday snuck upon me this week. I have been battling an awful sinus infection/ cold/ sore throat since Sunday. Trying to take care of a child while making sure they don't get sick as well is almost impossible. We have double humidifiers running in both bedrooms right now and enjoying lots and lots of soup. I am finally starting to feel like a resemblance of myself today just in time for a girl's night out! Keeping today's Friday five short and sweet. Enjoy!

Best Mascara. I am always on the lookout for the new and best thing when it comes to mascara. After doing some internet research I found this mascara. It got great reviews across multiple beauty websites and was cheap as well! I have been using it for several weeks now and love it. It really keeps your lashes curled up all day long!

Big Little Lies. I am so excited to start watching this show. Still waiting to re-read the book though before I dive in. Anyone who has watched it,  what did you think?

Cold Brew Coffee. My go to morning drink right now is this delicious coffee my Calfia Farms. No wired ingredients just coffee, almond milk and sugar. The best part is that you can find it at almost any grocery store. I can even get it at Walmart!

Podcast Recommendations. I would love to hear, what are your favorite podcasts? I love listening to  books or podcasts during my commute or when I'm out walking with Caroline. I have heard great things about Finding Richard Simmons and I still need to catch up on the latest Serial feature.

Web Favorites.

This workout is perfect for the nap time hustle.

An article I read recently on body acceptance that is just so true.

Honest and raw post by one of my fav celebs about the realness of postpartum depression. It is a scary place and no one should be ashamed to get help. The newborn stage is hard.

Another great line of natural beauty products.  I just love the packaging and it was made by makeup artists!

Dinner Cravings

While things at our house are quite quiet right now. I am recovering from a horrible bout with strep throat and Joe's work is super busy.  My goal each week is to have a healthy dinner prepared at least 3-4 nights.  Sometimes that happens and sometimes we eat Chick-fil-a. I am always on the lookout for yummy recipes and thought I would share some of my favorite websites and recipes for meal planning.

Dinner Salads- Avocado Caprese Chicken SaladJoyful Healthful Eats has a ton of great salad ideas like this one.

Healthy Dinners- Eat Yourself Skinny & Cooking Light. Cooking light has a great meal planner tool that will build your grocery list for you!

Fool Proof Dinners- I Heart Naptime & Hello Fresh Recipes. Even if you don't use Hello Fresh meal delivery you can still try any of their recipes at home! I love these for a night where I'm feeling more creative and wanting something a bit more fancy for dinner.

Alright, I would love to hear what are your go to sites for dinner ideas?

Friday Five

I hope everyone's Friday is off to an amazing start! Popping in today to share a few of my favs from this week.

Fresh Veggie Delivery. We have been receiving fresh, local produce from The Produce Box for a few years now. I always use it as a chance to try new veggies or recipes. This week, we got beets in our delivery. I absolutely love beets but never cook with them. I made it into a juice blend this morning and am looking forward to roasting some for dinner! Any other beet lovers out there?

Target Beauty Box. I snagged the box for February and have loved every thing in it! They just published the box for March and it looks just as amazing. The box is only $7 with shipping. Plus it includes a $3 coupon. Such a great deal! I believe that Target is featuring one for each month for 2017. You bet I will keep y'all updated when next month's box releases.

Supper Club Idea. Last week I headed out to dinner with a large group of moms from our group for dinner and drinks. It seems like these opportunities come few and far between right now. I love the idea of starting a supper club to catch up once a month sans babies. Now to just put this idea into action!

Baby Food Trick. Caroline loves, loves feeding herself. But she hates the mess of purees on her hands. So pouches are perfect for mess free snacking and especially great on the go. I have started making my own with these from amazon. This kit looks amazing as well. It is really to easy fill with a funnel and easy clean in the dishwasher. I got the 7oz so I can increase the serving size as Caroline grows.

Web Favorites.

As an eyeliner novice, I loved Kate's easy tips for mastering eye liner.

These oh so cute espadrilles.

Kendra Scott can do no wrong. This necklace is high on my wishlist.

Lilly Pulitzer x Swell collaboration. $40 for a water bottle. Even with the redic price tag, they have been selling out like crazy. But you can find one on eBay for $60+.

What's in my bag?

One of Caroline's favorite activities right now is pulling out every item from the diaper bag and strewing it all around the living room. A favorite is opening and pulling out all the baby wipes. For some reason it is so much fun!  This has forced me to repack and streamline the needed items several times over the past week. Today I'm sharing what I keep in it every day and what I can do without.

This is my current diaper bag. It has been perfect for carrying every baby necessity for the past year. It cleans easily and has held up well over the past year. There are so many extra pockets for storing and keeping organized bottles, bibs and spare clothes. We also have a simple backpack style that I find us using more on the weekends and for park playdates. I am considering upgrading to a backpack style like this one for the summer when I'll be chasing around a running toddler.

I like to keep it simple so everything is easy to find. I always make sure to have a snack and water on hand. Keeping hydrated is hard to remember some days so I keep a spare sparkling water in my bag at all times.

Gone are the days of carrying a purse all for myself. Instead I use this simple clutch to hold my phone, sunglasses and cards. It is perfect for running in the store for a minute when you don't need the whole diaper bag.

A rotation of toys is key right now she is loving these simple keys. I also keep a few books on hand to help entertain her in the car. We are going through a major teething spell right now so I always keep a clean teether in my bag. Extra paci are a must. I always pack a spare incase she throws one out of her carseat.

If we are eating on the go these disposable placemats are great for containing messes. Caroline loves these organic pouches from Aldi. She will down 2 in one sitting. Her favorite way to drink water is out of this sippy cup. I also will grab puffs or goldfish if we are going to be out for longer. Hand wipes are great for cleaning messes or toys when they get thrown to the ground.

Not pictured are my favorite diapers, wipes and the best rash cream. The diaper bag came with a simple changing pad which we wash weekly.

Alright, that's it! Any go to items that I am missing?
