Drugstore Finds

I have recently found myself gravitating more and more toward inexpensive makeup. I am very aware that $45 foundation can't be a regular staple in my makeup routine. Amongst the hundreds of different types of makeup it is hard to make a choice and find a favorite at times. Thanks to beauty bloggers and online reviews I have found a few favorite items that don't break the bank.

{Fresh Foundation} This is my go to on busy days with Caroline or when I want a fresh face for work. The coverage is light and formula is very moisturizing. It has retinol which helps minimize lines and age spots. Retinol also makes you skin more susceptible to burns so the added SPF is key!

{Wearable Mascara} Love the duo of lash fibers and mascara. This mascara does not flake or smudge and does not make your lashes hard or "crunchy". It also easy to remove which is a plus. I hate trying to get off stubborn mascara at the end of the day.

{Buildable Concealer} Perfect for days when I haven't gotten enough sleep. Which to be honest is most days. This concealer also doubles for coverage for pesky blemishes.

{Gentle Cleanser} I am the worst about taking off my makeup at night. I have started using my Clarisonic alongside this cleanser to spice up my routine in hopes of becoming more regular in getting off all the gunk at night. This cleaner has won so many awards and you can find it at Walmart! It has a great lather and removes all different types of makeup.

I'd love to hear, what are your drugstore makeup finds? Always looking for an excuse to head to Target :)

Well, Hello!

I have great intentions about this little space but when it comes to the end of the day a post just is not happening. There several posts floating around my head that I want to share but just can’t seem to get it written down. I want to provide some insight on surviving those sleepless newborn nights. (There were plenty and lasted way past the newborn stage.) How I’ve changed post baby and what was most surprising post-partum (You will never guess!).

The least I can do is provide a little update on our lives. Christmas with Caroline was so sweet. She is so social and loved seeing family. Honestly though, her favorite part of the whole thing was the wrapping paper. Girl loved to rattle and tear it up.  Joe and I attended the most gorgeous wedding over NYE weekend for one of childhood besties. We had the best time partying into 2017 with friends.  We had out first big winter storm which shut down Raleigh for quite a few days. I hate driving in snow/ice so we did not leave the house for at least 4 days. Our sweet girl is almost one year old and I’m in complete disbelief. Her party is going to be a little Valentine’s Day themed event at our house. I’m still working part time while my parent’s watch Caroline. It is the best being able to leave her with grandparents but there are still many days which I drag my feet dropping her off. Joe and I along with my parents are flying to Georgia this weekend to celebrate my Grandmother’s 100th birthday. I’m quite nervous about Caroline’s first plane ride but at least it is only an hour.  Here are a few photos over the past month...

No promises, but I hope to be back soon sharing more on these few post ideas swimming around in  my head.

Caroline | Eleven Months

January was filled with busy weekends visiting family and celebrating with friends. You are loving all of the toys you received for Christmas and have become quite a busy girl.

Nicknames: Little Bit, Sweet Girl

Height & Weight: Based on the at home scale you are 20 pounds and 28 inches long.

Looks: You remind everyone so much of your mom. It melts my heart and almost feels like you are becoming a little mini me.

Personality: With you new found love of crawling, you are quite curious and love exploring every new place we visit. When we first enter a new to you room, you will sit for a few minutes and survey the surroundings before heading off to explore.

Eating: My little toddler in the making, eating 3 meals a day plus a snack. We still offer a bottle 3x a day. You typically will drink most of the bottle especially before bed.

Sleeping:  Naps 2x a day for anywhere from 1-2 hours. Bedtime is always 6pm and you wake up sometime between 5:30 and 6:30.

Wearing:  Size 4 diapers. Your 9 month onesies fit but the pants are getting too short.

Favorite Things: Playing with your favorite Christmas gift which is the busy box. You have mastered crawling on your hands and knees and can get around the house so quickly. You loved, loved, loved the snow we had in January.
